Coronation Street veteran Suranne Jones is to star in new ITV1 drama Strictly Confidential.
She will play a married sex therapist called Linda Nelson who has more than a few close encounters with her attractive colleague Greg (Tristan Gemmill).
The actress confessed recently she had to sing songs from musicals during the sex scenes to take her mind off what she was doing.
The supporting cast of Kay Mellor’s new drama includes ex-Corrie stars Nikki Sanderson (Candice Stowe) and Eva Pope (Tanya Pooley).
Suranne joined the Weatherfield soap in 2000 and became an instant hit with viewers as Steve’s wonderfully unhinged love interest, Karen.
In 2004 she won a National Television Award for Most Popular Actress. She also bagged British Soap Awards for Best Actress in 2004 and 2005.
The Oldham-born star proved there was life after Corrie, co-starring in two series of Ray Winstone vehicle Vincent.
